Favorite Food of Monkey

We all have a favorite food that makes our tummies smile with pleasure. Is a monkeys favorite a banana or are all the pictures of monkeys with bananas just an art? Monkeys eat bananas because there is a ton of them where they live in the wild. They do enjoy other fruits and bugs as well. Did you know a monkey peels a banana from the other end of the side that we do?

People Needs Internet

Facebook - the ubiquitous social networking website - has been causing quite a stir lately with an on-going series of changes to its default privacy settings that make certain of its users' information more public.

As an occasional and somewhat reluctant user of Facebook, my reaction to these changes has been decidedly negative - I do not like them. Sensing that my reaction was more than just a basic desire for privacy, I wondered if there was more to the issue of privacy than mere personal preference. Curious, I began reflecting  more deeply into the fundamental nature of privacy and its role in our lives.

What I came to see is that privacy is about much more than just the satisfaction of a personal preference or desire. Privacy is ultimately a basic human need. Through the relationship between privacy and vulnerability, privacy plays an important role not only in creating intimacy in relationship but in the discovery and realization of our true self.

Balkman Kick In PBA

For Petron head coach Olsen Racela, that is enough for their import to be given another chance.

Balkman, who played well below his average pace on Friday in Petron’s 73-83 setback to Alaska, took his frustrations out on his teammates on Friday, leading to a shocking gesture.

While raging on an alleged non-call on each one of the referees, Balkman, along the way, pushed aside one of the Boosters’ assistant coaches, shoved Ronald Tubid and Arwind Santos, who were trying to pacify him, and then eventually putting his hand around Santos’ neck when the latter retaliated with a shove.

But after settling down, Balkman eventually apologized  to his teammates inside the Petron dugout.

“Sila-sila sila rin (nag-ayos). Nagsalita lang ako na we’re just like family na nagaaway-away, pero sila-sila lang rin nag-patch up kung ano man kailangan pag-usapan,” said Racela.

“It was better than a speech, inisa-isa nya kaming lahat. Pati si Arwind at mother ni Arwind kinausap nya,” Racela added.

Scoring an average of 28.2 points per game since the conference started, Balkman was limited to just six on Friday night as he misfired on all but three of his 16 attempts from the floor and all four from the stripe.

And that’s what Racela believe prompted Balkman’s shocking show of frustration.

“Ganun naman yun eh, that’s how much these players want to win. Yun yung passion sa laro, kaya ganun maglaro si Balkman every game. Ayaw na ayaw niyang natatalo. Frustrated siya na di maganda laro  tapos talo na kami,” Racela said.

Yes, Racela looks keen on giving Balkman another chance, saying the American-Puerto Rican is staying so far. “He realized what he’s done kanina sa loob so okay na.”

“I told them na it’s just one game, and I know how much all of you want to win. The true character of this team will come out the next game. We’re all in this together.”

But whether Balkman would be there in the next game or not, it has yet to be decided by the Petron higher-ups.

“We’re going to talk amongst ourselves, pati sila boss Robert (Non) and boss Noli (Eala). But the important thing is, alam niya pagkakamali nya at nagsorry siya sa mga teammates niya,” Racela said. (CF)

Adobe vs Corel

If you are referring to vector programs Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator, well for me I prefer Corel Draw because:

1. Nodes are more controllable.

Which is basically the most important thing for me when I create a vector image, and I think is also the point for vector programs: Controlling the nodes.

Don't get me wrong, AI is easier to use specially if you are already familiar with photoshop. (Well, it's like the vector program version of photoshop) There's a wide variety of brushes to be used (that is not available in Corel) and it's like converting bitmap images to vector made easy. Managing colors like gradient and Filters are a plus factor.

But there are tons of downloadable vector images on the net that you can just download. So easy, everyone can do it. Premade vector artworks.

For Corel, once you get the hang of working in it, you'd find that there's a lot of things (preferably tricks) that you can do in there wherein you can't work with in AI. You can work on your own vector image, your own one that will not look like "they've seen it somewhere else" kind of stuff.

Easier to control nodes will make it all possible. You can break a line into nodes and make that one line into a ship, a logo, create your own font or into a portrait of a person.

My point is, in Corel, you can create vector images, as in Create them, not edit. It's like giving you a paper and pencil, rather than giving you someone elses work and plagiarizing it. The gui must be hard to get used to at first, but it is real easy, even more easier than AI if you get used to it.Just an opinion. ^^ In editing photos I prefer Adobe Photoshop. It's good to be familiar with other programs may it be vector based or bitmap, so you'd be able to switch between the two. It wouldn't hurt to also learn how to use AI and Corel. Makes the artwork look good.

LOVE CAN DIE

Why does love die if love never dies?
People say that true love never dies. And so we live hoping for the happy endless love. How then does it happen that seemingly love dies, slips through the fingers? "Was there death of love or had he/she just left me, with love not gone?” - both answers are hard to understand.
When we are in the hurting situation of lost love we ask ourselves: "Where has the love gone?" Not WHY, but WHERE. After being absolutely crazy in love, we just cannot believe into the complete end of love, the death of all feelings and memories. Then what really happens to it, if love never dies?

10 Paradise in PILIPINAS

An archipelagic country like the Philippines never runs short of beaches that inspire a litany of praises and attract droves of tourists. The top 10 beaches in the Philippines listed below are by far the best ‘discovered’ summer magnets, and are considered as such because the beaches are naturally beautiful with minimal tourist footprint. But who knows, with a thousand other destinations, the next best summer haven is yet to be discovered by an intrepid travel blogger or off-the-beaten path beach enthusiast.
1. Palawan

El Nido, Palawan
The word ‘beach’ conjures a tropical Eden that deserves a spot in the movies and in super-glossy magazines. It takes a traveler to set their foot in Palawan to believe that Eden is for real, too. Palawan is the last frontier of the Philippines, and it is abundantly blessed not only with an almost virgin canopy of forest in its interior, but also by limestone karst outcrops that rise from sparkling emerald-turquoise waters and festoon blindingly white beaches. El Nido and Coron are known for their achingly beautiful beach scenery, but in terms of length, nothing beats Long Beach in San Vicente for its 14-kilometer stretch of white sand, outdoing Boracay’s White Beach by 10 kilometers. For those who are willing to part with their precious dollars, Amanpulo in Pamalican Island is nirvana even for the aquaphobic.
2. Island Garden City of Samal

South Sea pearls used to come from one pearl farm-turned-resort found in the island of Samal south of Davao del Norte in Mindanao. But the island’s jewel is not only found underwater; the island is fringed with it. White beaches are a staple of this destination’s growing tourist economy, but they are not as well-trodden as mature destinations, so they still retain that nature-endowed charm.

3. Pagudpud

Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte is an established coastal resort town with a touch of rawness that tourism has not yet totally tarnished. The white sand beaches and sparkling crystal blue waters of Pagudpud could melt any beach lover’s heart at first sight. Blue Lagoon, so named because of its waters, is a secluded spot that is gradually getting attention from investors.

4. Panampangan Island, Tawi-Tawi
Sitting on the edge of southwestern Mindanao off the coast of the municipality of Bongao, Panampangan Island is as unspoiled as any traveler would want their beaches to be. The white shore is largely footprint-free, even though it is only 90 minutes away from civilization. It is surrounded by political hot zones, so it would be wise to tag along a boatload of tourists with military escorts.

5. Santa Cruz Island, Zamboanga
The Great Island of Santa Cruz boasts of a cherry blossom pink sand courtesy of red organ pipe coral. From afar, the pink hue is not visible, so this beach is somewhat an open secret even to Filipinos. Getting to this island requires a tourist permit so the local tourism office can provide travelers with a military escort going to the island and back. Santa Cruz is just opposite Basilan, (in)famous for various cases of civilian kidnapping by armed groups.

6. Caramoan Island, Camarines Sur
CamSur, as the province is more widely known, is a hotspot for surfers, Filipino and foreigners alike. Far off its coast is a place of gentler waves, white sand beaches, towering limestone cliffs, islets and lagoons that make it a paradise for all sorts of water adventures. That place is Caramoan, which is thankfully, still beyond the radar of commercial tourism.

7. Malapascua Island, Cebu

A recent newcomer to the beach scene, Malapascua was only ‘discovered’ in the 1990s so it still has a lot of raw nature appeal that would delight a passionate beach lover. The island’s requisite white beach, coral gardens and teeming shoals beckon water adventurers of all colors and stripes.

8. Ticao Island, Masbate

One of the three major islands in Masbate, Ticao Island boasts of Monreal, a well-kept secret of the people of the region. The fish in Halea Nature Park are astoundingly colorful and unbelievably brimming with diversity. Giant manta rays also cavort in Monreal waters and whale sharks abound like there is no population shortage of the species. Ticao as a whole is lined with the most pristine beaches that even travel bloggers in the country are hesitant to share this piece of summer escape for fear it would be overrun with tourism.

9. Siquijor

Among Filipinos, Siquijor evokes of mysticism and supernaturalism . But on ground level, the only thing mystical and supernatural are the unbelievably rich marine life that surrounds this smallest island in the Central Visayas. Blessed with weird rock formations, Siquijor also boasts of white sand beaches that fringe most of its 102-kilometer coastline.
10. Camiguin Island

Off the coast of Misamis Oriental is another gem of an island that is  getting mainstream attention among beach lovers. Camiguin Island was formed from volcanic activity, and Mt. Hibok-Hibok that towers above the seascape is still an active volcano. White Island is one of the major attractions in the area, a sandbar that changes shapes with the changing tides. Beyond White Island, there is the 10-hectare Jicduf Shoal that is the playground of intrepid underwater adventurers.

Boracay requires special mention because it is the beach capital of the Philippines.  White sand beaches (4-kilometer long), sparkling turquoise waters, mesmerizing sunsets, and a party vibe that caps it all off makes Boracay an unforgettable destination of any beach pilgrim. As the number one island on the list of travelandleisure.com, Boracay has everything that a beach lover could possibly dream of, so be sure to tick it off your bucket list first

Why Computers Invented?

For centuries, humans have needed help in calculating. Making trade transactions, taking a population census, or figuring out the distance between two stars takes tons of calculating. And if you want an accurate result, no mistakes are allowed.

The earliest calculator was the human hand and its fingers. When quantities larger than fingers needed counting, various natural items like pebbles and twigs were used.

The abacus was one of many counting devices invented to help count large numbers.

There is a difference between counting boards and abaci. The counting board is a piece of wood, stone or metal with carved grooves or painted lines. Beads, pebbles or metal discs were moved between the lines or grooves to count. The abacus is a device of wood or plastic with a frame that holds rods with freely-sliding beads mounted on them.

Both the abacus and the counting board are mechanical aids used for counting. They are not what we think of as a modern calculators. The person operating the abacus performs calculations in his head and uses the abacus as a physical aid to keep track of the sums. Some tradesmen still use them nowadays to make their calculations on the markets in Asia,

HAYABUSA 2013

Suzuki has overhauled one of Australia’s most popular, high-powered sports motorcycles, the Suzuki Hayabusa, now equipped with Brembo front brakes and the first in Suzuki’s sportsbike range to feature an Antilock Brake System (ABS).
Originally introduced in 1999 and consistently tested as the fastest production motorcycle in the world, the iconic Hayabusa redefined the hyper-sport category and in doing so required its own classification – ‘ultimate sport’.
Named after the Japanese bird of prey capable of speeds in excess of 300 km/h, the Suzuki Hayabusa has been designed for maximum performance and represents the pinnacle of sportsbike engineering, performance and styling.
The all-new 2013 Hayabusa is the first in Suzuki’s sportsbike range to feature an Antilock Brake System (ABS) to enhance brake performance and prevent wheel locking due to changed road conditions or excessive braking*.
In addition the 2013 Hayabusa is now equipped with top-of-the-line radial-mount Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers that deliver prompt feedback to the rider, with an enlarged piston diameter from 32-30mm to 32-32mm meaning greater force is applied to the brake disc, resulting in increased initial bite to tame the Hayabusa’s incredible power.
Packed with race-bred technology, the 2013 Hayabusa features Suzuki’s Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system and a 1,340cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine providing strong power delivery and impressive torque throughout its broad powerband.
Suzuki’s original Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) lets riders select one of three engine maps to suit road conditions and their riding preferences, while the slick-shifting six-speed transmission works in conjunction with the innovative Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) back-torque-limiting clutch to deliver smooth and controlled downshifts.
Inverted cartridge front forks feature a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating surface treatment on the 43mm stanchion tubes to reduce friction and increase reaction to small irregularities on the road.
Countless engineering refinements and extensive wind tunnel testing have contributed to find the ultimate shape for high-speed riding with the radical aerodynamic styling giving the all-new Hayabusa its unique look whilst also improving fuel efficiency.
A lightweight twin-spar aluminium-alloy frame and aggressive and sporty styling in a Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Oort Grey or Pearl Glacier White/Metallic Oort Grey colour scheme complete the potent package.
“Thanks to its incredible design and engineering and of course the support of Hayabusa riders all over Australia, the Hayabusa stands above and apart from other ultimate sport bikes,” said Perry Morison, General Manager Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia.
“The addition of ABS and Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers take the 2013 Hayabusa to a whole new level and it really is an unmatched combination of raw race power with agility and control.”
The 2013 Hayabusa will be available in Australia in autumn 2013

SABONG

Cockfighting—a blood sport in which two roosters specifically bred for aggressiveness are placed beak to beak in a small ring and encouraged to fight to the death—has been around for centuries. Roosters were first bred for fighting in Southeast Asia more than 3,000 years ago, and cockfighting later spread to Greece, Rome and Britain before crossing the Atlantic about 200 years ago. The brutal “sport" found popularity in North, South and Central Americas, and was particularly prevalent in Colonial New York, Philadelphia and Boston. By the 1800s, it had spread to the South and West Coast—but by this time, people had begun to realize how cruel it was, and many states banned it. Today, cockfighting is a crime in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Yet, despite these laws, cockfighting still persists.

the Story of Murderer : PERFUME

The film in set in the 18th century. First we see a young man in a prison cell and there is a bunch of people screaming outside. The guards then take him to the balcony where they announce that he will be executed be being tied down on a cross and being beaten in 12 places and then left until he's dead. They also announce that there will be no mercy for the man. The crowd is screaming for his death.

The film then cuts to Paris. A pregnant woman is selling fish in a fish market that must be the foulest smelling area in the city. She goes into labor and lets her baby drop on the ground under her table, assuming that her baby is dead because she's lost four babies before this one. However, the baby lives and when people see it lying under the table, they believe she tried to kill her own baby and they have her executed. The baby is Jean-Baptiste Grenouillle. He gets sent to an orphanage where all the children dislike him and even try to kill him.

We then jump ahead to Grenouille at age five where we see that he has an unusual ability to smell everything. He can smell rocks, water, trees, etc. even if they're far away. He loves to discover new smells. When he turns 13, the woman who runs the orphanage decides to sell him to a tannery. He works there for many years.

As an adult (played be Ben Whishaw) he is taken into the city to help make a delivery for the tannery and is excited by all of the new scents. He slips away from his boss and stops in front of a perfume shop where he gets excited by the new scents and notices everyone getting excited about a new perfume called "Amor et psychie" (not sure about the spelling).

He then notices a pretty young redhead who is selling plums. He loves the way she smells and follows her through the city. Eventually she stops in a back alley and he sneaks up on her so that he can smell her. She sees him and starts to scream so he covers her mouth and nose to stop her from screaming. He ends up killing her. After she dies, he continues to smell her, but becomes upset because he can't keep her scent and take it with him. He then decides that he must learn how to do this.

We then meet Giuseppe Baldini(Dustin Hoffman). He owns a perfume shop that sits in a rickety building on a bridge in Paris. He used to be a great perfume maker but is now forgotten. He's been trying to make a new scent. He goes to his work area and we see that he's been studying Amor et psychie, the perfume made by his competitor, trying to figure out what ingredients are in it. He is able to smell orange blossoms and a few other scents, but can't figure out all of them. That night, Grenouille makes a delivery to his perfume shop and Baldini leads him down into the basement to drop off the skins. There Baldini keeps all of the oils and ingredients he uses to mix perfumes. Grenouille notices that he smells like "Amor et Psychie" and then is able to quickly tell him what ingredients are in it. Baldini isn't too impressed so he challenges Grenouille to make a copy of Amor et Psychie using the ingredients in the basement, which he quickly does. He then says he can make it better, and adds a few more ingredients. He then asks Baldini to smell it and ask to come and work for him so that he can learn hot to make scented oils. After Baldini tells Grenouille to leave, he smells the new mixture and realizes that it is incredible. He then goes to the tannery and buys Grenouille so that he can make perfumes for him. Because of Grenouille's new perfumes, his shop quickly becomes a success again.

He then begins to teach Grenouille about making perfumes. He teaches that each perfume has twelve different oils/scents in it. He also teaches a legend about a 13th scent that can be added to perfumes. If one can find the right 13th scent and put them all in the right balance, the perfume can be sublime. He teaches Grenouille how to make a scented oil from rose petals using a machine that involves boiling the petals in water and then condensing the scented oil. Grenouille then tries to do this with objects her finds on the ground, like glass, iron and even a dead cat, and Baldini tells them that you can't capture scents from things like these. Grenouille quickly becomes sick because he is so upset, and he asks if someone in Grasse, a city in France devoted to perfume making, would know how to capture scents?? Baldini says probably, yes. He then arranges travel papers for Grenouille so that he can go to Grasse in exchange for recipes for 100 different perfumes. After Grenouille leaves, the building he lives in collapses and Baldini dies.

On the way to Grasse, Grenouille stops in a cave where there are almost no scents. While staying there he realizes something about himself. He has absolutely no body odor/scent. He's never noticed before because he always lived in a smelly city with smelly clothes. He travels on to Grasse and on the way, sees a red-haired girl (Rachel Hurd-Wood) travel by in a coach and loves her scent. He follows her into the city and discovers that her name is Laura and she is the daughter of a nobleman named Antoine Richis(played by Alan Rickman) and lives in a mansion. He gets a job with a woman who makes scented oils from all the flowers that grow around the city. He learns another process of capturing scents, which involves heating flowers in a large vat of water/animal fat. He kills a peasant girl so that he can try to capture her scent by putting her in the big vat, but is doesn't work. He then gets a prostitute and figures out how to capture her scent by wrapping her body with cloth soaked in animal fat so that the fat can absorb her scent. He also cuts off her hair and wraps it in cloth as well. He then scrapes the fat off of the body and hair and heats the fat and the scented oil condenses out of the fat. He tests it by placing her scented oil on his skin and then seeing if her pet dog responds to the scent, which it does.

He heads to Laura's home where they are having a party. Everyone tries to play hide and seek in the large maze next to the house. Grenouille tries to capture Laura, but can't, and instead kidnaps and kills two twin girls from the party. He captures their scents and now has scents #1 and #2 for his set of twelve oils.

Their bodies are discovered in the river, and all the noblemen convene to figure out how to capture him. They are ineffective and he continues to kill other women throughout the city, eventually getting all twelve oils, but he still wants to get Laura's scent as the special 13th scent. Suddenly, a killer from another town confesses to the murders in Grasse, and everyone is happy that the killer was found. However Antoine points out that this man can't be the killer because he claims to have raped the women and pulled out their hair, when in fact they weren't raped and their hair was carefully cut off. That night, Grenouille sneaks into Antoine's home, but doesn't kill Laura. Anotine becomes scared and sneaks her out of the city, having his carriage go in one direction while he and his daughter go in another direction on horseback. Grenouille wakes up and realizes that she's left because he can no longer smell her in the city. He uses his nose to track them down. After Grenouille leaves the city, the prostitute's dog sniffs around the workshop where he worked and digs up the prostitute's clothes which are buried there. The townspeople eventually dig up the clothes and hair belonging to some of the victims.

That night, Antoine and Laura stop at an inn to rest for the night. Antoine then tells Laura that he's going to have her married to a nobleman she doesn't love for her own protection. After everyone falls asleep, Grenouille sneaks into the inn and sneaks into Laura's bedroom. The next morning, Anotine discovers Laura's body. He kills her and cuts off her hair like all the others. He stops somewhere in the countryside and finishes his perfume after adding her scent. Just as he finishes, he is arrested.

We then cut ahead to Grenouille in prison as he's about to be taken to the execution site. He has a vial of his special perfume hidden in his cell. However, right after the guards start to beat him, he opens his vial of perfume. They smell it and stop. We then go to execution site where the entire town is waiting to watch it. The people are screaming for his blood. However, he arrives is an expensive carriage and dressed in beautiful clothes (given to him by a nobleman at the prison). The second everyone can smell him(he's wearing his special perfume), they all stop yelling. They then begin to all cheer for him and say that he must be innocent and that he must be an angel. He steps up to execution block and the executioner drops to his knees and starts to worship Grenouille. Then, Grenouille takes a handkerchief from his pocket, puts a drop of his perfume on it, and lets it float out into the crowd. This causes everyone to become enraptured and they begin to take all of the their clothes off and have a giant orgy. As Grenouille is watching this, he begins to think the red-haired girl he followed and killed in Paris and begins to imagine that instead to killing her, she responds to him and likes him. He then begins to cry. At this point Antoine (the one person who hasn't joined in the orgy) reaches the stage and draws his sword so that he can kill him. Grenouille doesn't fight him at all and is willing to Antoine kill him. However, as Antoine gets closer he drops his sword, falls to his knees, and asks for Grenouille's forgiveness.

We then cut to later that day. The townspeople wake up as though from a hangover, naked and on the ground around the execution site. Grenouille has already left. They quietly get up and quickly leave. The narrator telling us that they never spoke of this incident again. They then proceeded to arrest a man who was Grenouille's supervisor while working at the oil shop. They accused him of the murders since the clothes were technically buried at this workplace. They tortured him for 14 hours and got him to confess and he was hung as the killer of the women.

Grenouille decided to return to Paris. He realized that with his potion he could control anyone and everyone he wanted, but since he was incapable of giving an receiving love, the perfume was pointless for him. He returns to the same smelly fishmarket where he was born, and sees a crowd of homeless people standing around a fire. He then pours the entire vial of perfume on this head. The people smell this and become enraptured, saying that they love him and that he must be an angel. However, they crowd around him and want him so badly that they basically maul him to death. When the crowd finally clears, there's nothing left but some of his bloody clothes.

Phosphorous

In 1669, phosphorous was discovered - phosphorous was soon used in match heads.

In 1680, an Irish physicist named Robert Boyle (Boyle's Law) coated a small piece of paper with phosphorous and coated a small piece of wood with sulfur. He then rubbed the wood across the paper and created a fire. However, there was no useable match created by Robert Boyle.

In 1827, John Walker, English chemist and apothecary, discovered that if he coated the end of a stick with certain chemicals and let them dry, he could start a fire by striking the stick anywhere. These were the first friction matches. The chemicals he used were antimony sulfide, potassium chlorate, gum, and starch. Walker did not patent his "Congreves" as he called the matches (alluding to the Congreve's rocket invented in 1808). Walker was a former chemist at 59 High Street, in Stockton-on-Tees, England. His first sale of the matches was on April 7, 1827, to a Mr. Hixon, a solicitor in the town. Walker made little money from his invention. He died in 1859 at the age of 78 and is buried in the Norton Parish Churchyard in Stockton.

MS-DOS is 30 years old now

Thirty years ago, on July 27 1981, Microsoft bought the rights for QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating System) from Seattle Computer Products (SCP) for $25,000. QDOS, otherwise known as 86-DOS, was designed by SCP to run on the Intel 8086 processor, and was originally thrown together in just two months for a 0.1 release in 1980. Meanwhile, IBM had planned on powering its upcoming Personal Computer with an Intel 8086-compatible version of CP/M, which was the standard OS for Intel 8080 and other 8-bit architectures at the time, but a deal could not be struck with CP/M’s developer, Digital Research. IBM then approached Microsoft, which already had a few years of  experience under its belt with M-DOS, BASIC, and other important tools — and as you can probably tell from the landscape of the computer world today, the IBM/Microsoft partnership worked out rather well indeed.

IBM released its Personal Computer in August 1981 running version 1.14 of SCP’s QDOS — but a few months later Microsoft produced MS-DOS 1.24, which then became the standard IBM PC operating system. In March 1983, both MS-DOS 2.0 and the IBM PC/XT were released. The rest, as they say, is history. MS-DOS 3.0 followed in 1984 (alongside the IBM PC/AT), and MS-DOS 4.0 with a mouse-powered, menu-driven interface arrived in 1989. It’s around this point that IBM’s PC operating system, PC-DOS, began to diverge from MS-DOS — and of course, come 1990, Microsoft released Windows 3.0, which would change Microsoft’s focus forever. It’s also around this time that developers start to feel the pinch of the 640KB conventional memory limit imposed by IBM’s original hardware specifications

Still, come 1991, MS-DOS 5.0 was released (along with the much-loved QBASIC), and MS-DOS 6.0 with much-maligned DoubleSpace disk compression tool appeared in 1993. By this stage, IBM, Digital Research (DR-DOS), and Microsoft were all leapfrogging each other with different version numbers and features. IBM released PC-DOS 6.1, and MS followed quickly with MS-DOS 6.2. IBM released PC-DOS 6.3 — and Novell trumped them all by releasing Novell DOS 7.0. In 1995, however, Windows 95 with an underpinning of MS-DOS 7.0 and its new FAT32 file system was released, and the history of DOS draws to a close. Every other version of DOS was quickly squished out of existence by Windows 95, and it wouldn’t be until the late 90s and the emergence of the Dot Com Bubble that another command-line OS would yet again rise to prominence in the shape of Linux.

Astro Boy Ability

Astro Boy is the main character in the Astro Boy series. He was created after the human Astro was based on (Tobio/Toby) was hit by a car and killed. His dad, filled with grief, made a robot version of him. He named him Astro Boy, after his son.
Astro Boy was created by Doctor Tenma, and was meant to be a replacement for his deceased son named Tobio (Toby in various English translations). However, because Astro was not able to grow and age like a normal human child, Doctor Tenma abandoned him to a Robot Circus led by the cruel Ham Egg.
At the circus, Astro Boy was found by Professor Ochanomizu and adopted. Professor Ochanomizu gave Astro a family with a robotic mother, father, sister (Uran) and brother (Cobalt). As head of the Ministry of Science, Professor Ochanomizu often calls on Astro to help resolve situations involving humans, robots and (on occasion) extraterrestrials. The team called Astro "Atom" because it can mean "Atomic" robot
Astro Boy has several capabilities to aid him in his adventures:

The ability to translate more than 60 languages
Strength equivalent to 100,000 horsepower (75 MW)
The ability to fly using jets in his legs and arms
Amplification of his hearing up to one thousand times
Guns deployed from his posterior
Invulnerability to conventional physical injury
An electro-heart that can discern people's criminal intentions
Bright eye-lamps to assist his vision
Laser guns in his finger tips
Laser cannons in his arms
An extremely accurate electronic brain

Despite his abilities and work for good, Astro is often ostracized by the human race for being a robot. Since he is not officially considered a citizen, he often has to deal with the prejudice of humans against robots. Ultimately, Astro has to find a way to bring peace between humans and robots.

cd-r king..?

CD-R King is a shop in the Philippines that sells computer parts and computer gadgets at a very cheap price. They are located on malls alongside other computer stores that sell the same goods but on rates double and even triple the price of CD-R King’s.
This store started by selling CD-R storage media, back in the early 2000s. When a piece of a recordable CD is about a couple of a dollar or more than php50.00, this storage media chain store were already selling them in cents. No wonder their products sell like hot cakes. Their products came from Asian suppliers, probably Taiwanese or Chinese who manufacture their own products, which CD-R King sells here.

CD-R King even faced challenges on their operation when they were accused for aiding software piracy in the country by enabling easy means of copying all over the country. But then, the claim was proved false and this chain store continued to prosper over the years.

I believe that this store has a mission of providing affordable products to the Filipinos, and I choose this store for small purchases. Actually, up to the present time, this store is only selling gadgets and not actually computer packages nor software.

They are rather selling CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, portable drives like USB flash drives, speakers, mouse, cords, coolers, and a host of similar or related products for computer and electronics, carrying their own brand, CD-R King, on chosen products.

One disadvantage I experience on shopping here, is that, it takes quite long before you can get your item. This is because the store is crowded with customers, and they only have one to two salesperson in a stall, and they are even slow in giving your receipts as most of their products are covered by some warranty, and it has taken me nearly an hour to fall in line in a queue to complete my purchase.

But overall, I’d chose this electronic/computer store when they are available because their products are affordable and of mediocre to high quality too.

Oggy and the Cockroaches

Oggy and the Cockroaches (also known as Oggy et les Cafards in French) is a French animated television series produced by Gaumont Film Company, created by Jean-Yves Rambaud Vaucelle and Charles, and directed by Olivier Jean-Marie. There are 195 episodes of 7 minutes. Oggy and the Cockroaches is indeed the most popular series now-a-days.

Oggy and the cockroaches, as the name suggests is the story of Oggy -a fat, lazy blue cat and the three pesky cockroaches. Oggy is very tender and friendly where the cockroaches are like 3 little demons. They are named Joey, Dee Dee and Marky, taken from the name of the famous punk group Ramones' members. They never stop teasing or pinching Oggy. Hijacking the foods from Oggy's fridge, placing bombs at oggy's bed, scaring Oggy now- and then are very common.
This cartoon is based on slapstick humor, chases, collisions, and crude practical jokes are common in every episodes. Sometimes the level of extremities even rise up more than normal level. They produce broad humor, absurd situations, and vigorous, often violent action. It's common that those little cockroaches throws beds, tv sets or even buses or submarines sometimes. Younger viewers like them very much though. The laughs of those pesky roaches are also enjoyable.

K-POP...???

Strange. It just looks like your only point is saying that Epik High is underrated
And you're thoughtlessly generalizing K-Pop as well. K-Pop is Korean Pop. There are many famous and legendary Korean Pop artists. You're probably thinking of K-Pop idol groups.

I don't pay a lot of attention to the lyrics, yet I didn't begin to like K-Pop because of the idols, either. I don't care if they're 'childish', 'repetitive' or about 'breaking up or falling in love'. I like the music because of the catchy rhythms, the different type of colors in each song, and the styles.

You should realize that people do have non-shallow reasons for liking K-Pop.

You're also being horribly unfair to the other artists. Just like the members of Epik High, every single one of them worked through blood and sweat to survive in the K-Pop industry. You sound like you're just a little frustrated that they aren't getting enough exposure? Well, blame it on the company, don't go around bashing other people just because of this.

Fancy choreography, repetitive lines, and good looks are what sells. Those are what bring in the money. Calling K-Pop 'crap'? Well, sure, that's your opinion, but Epik High is also K-Pop. Are you saying that out of all the epic artists out there, they're the only one who deserves it?

iOS vs Android vs Windows 8

iOS

Let’s start with Apple’s mobile platform. By far and away the most polished, prestigious, and arguably popular mobile OS platform, there’s no doubt that Apple started the modern post-PC era. There’s a lot to love about iOS — it’s reliable, the hardware is gorgeous and cutting-edge, and it has the largest library of content and applications. Honestly, it’s the perfect content consumption device for end-users who simply want to absorb and aren’t interested in doing a lot of creation.
I’m not sure why so many technology bloggers want to paint the iPad as a productivity platform. Of the three platforms, iOS is the weakest in content creation and productivity. iOS is aimed squarely at average consumer markets and it’s hugely successful in reaching this group. The iPad is so simple that toddlers and chimps can pick it up and understand it. I like to tease about this, but that’s the key to its success. It’s an appliance designed to empower nearly anyone to enjoy the benefits of digital devices.
However, having an easy device comes with sacrifices, and the biggest one is that iOS is the least suited for professional use. Sure, there are exceptions. Some niche industries, most notable the medical and music industries, embrace the iPad and drive a lot of app designs. Ultimately, I think that a more powerful and flexible mobile OS platform will become equal to or exceed iOS even in those fields — but for now, Apple enjoys a lead. Otherwise, if you’re not in one of those very narrow niches, iOS is only the best choice if you want a machine primarily for consumer applications with little or no professional productivity in mind.

Android

Android is the middle ground. With many of the features (and liabilities) of a true mobile OS, Google has tried to walk a line in offering the same kind of intuitive, light-weight mobile experience as iOS but with the power and flexibility of a traditional Windows desktop OS. They’ve done a pretty good job at this, which is reflected in the popularity of this platform.I believe that not only is Android the most popular smartphone OS, but it’s also now positioned to be the dominant tablet and hybrid OS by the middle of 2013. It’s no wonder, because Android is (in many ways) the “Windows” of mobile OS platforms. With multiple device manufacturers competing on price, quality, features and other positions, Android devices offer a flexibility that iOS cannot match. There’s something for every budget, goal, and desire among Android-based devices.
However, the process has not been without compromise. In making a more flexible and powerful platform that supports more devices, Android has become less of a consumer appliance and more of a power user’s playground. While that may sound good to a lot of potential users, it means that Android is not as stable, predictable, or well designed as iOS. Things are just a little less polished.
At the same time, for true power users, Android falls just short of being able to deliver a completely satisfying experience. I’ve been using Android daily for several years, chasing a replacement for my Windows laptop. Part of my shock that iOS users are chasing this goal is my disappointment with Android in this regard. I can leave the PC notebook at home for trips and travel, but I’ve had to adjust and learn “work-around” methods that include saving the heavy lifting for a real PC. For some users, this is good enough. If you want a little more power on the road but are still okay with needing a PC to finish things up when you return, Android may be a good solution for you.

Windows 8

Microsoft has positioned themselves to compete with the encroachment of mobile OS platforms on the traditional PC, but Windows 8 is a complex platform in all its myriad forms. Windows delivers much of the mobile OS platform nearly as well as the previously mentioned platforms, but it retains a distinct focus on corporate business productivity as its primary role. Even the ARM-based Windows RT is aimed at users who are strongly invested in Microsoft’s business platforms. If you want the strongest integration with Windows domains, Exchange, Office, and Microsoft’s cloud and intranet solutions, Windows 8 is simply worlds ahead of either iOS or Android. The business-oriented apps are also far more advanced for enterprise-oriented goals, content creation, and organization.
The sacrifice here is that Windows 8 reflects Microsoft’s philosophy on enabling powerful business applications that reward a steep learning curve with tremendous competitive advantage. This is the least intuitive touch-screen platform, the social integration is the most uneven, and the apps and consumer content are the sparsest (at least on the mobile side of the OS). You’ve also got some platform fracturing that can be confusing.
Windows RT is aimed at people who want a very lightweight device that offers a lot of the hardware features of competitive tablets, with a somewhat crippled version of Microsoft’s “Classic” Windows mode. The crippled Classic mode still offers the best corporate productivity platform of any mobile tablet device in this class for professionals in Microsoft shops.
Windows Pro devices are really just full-fledged traditional PCs with a touch-oriented GUI. They can do everything a PC can do, but they offer mobile, touch-oriented features too. These devices do not generally deliver the same true instant-on and true 8+ hour battery life as mobile OS platforms, nor the quiet fanless operation. But if you’re a heavy professional content creator in a Microsoft business and you want a device that offers many benefits of touch-screen mobile devices, there may be no better choice for you.
Remember, there’s no platform that’s truly superior to the others in this roundup. They all have benefits and compromises, so you need to select the platform that appeals the most to you. Depending on your needs and tastes, however, you might end up picking a platform that isn’t the best solution for you.
Which device platform best fits your needs? Let us hear your questions and feedback in the discussion thread below.

MAC Disadvantages

With more and more horror stories about Windows Vista and the ever increasing amount of viruses, malware, adware and inexplicable Blue Screens of Death, many people are considering making the jump to an Apple computer. I was a longtime Windows user, but have recently made the switch. As I see it, here is a quick summary of some of the advantages and disadvantages of owning a Mac.

Advantages of Apple Computers

Security. Apple computers are much more secure than Windows PCs. Viruses, adware and malware designed for a Windows-based processor simply will not run on a Mac. The main reason for this is simply that there are much fewer Macs in use. People who make malicious software want to have it spread to as many people as possible and designing a virus for a Mac simply will not accomplish this.

Reliability. The people who make Mac software are the same people who make the Mac hardware. While Windows programmers have to take into account nearly infinite variations in hardware, Mac OS is designed to be used on a very limited amount of computers: those built by Apple. The software is designed specifically to run on the hardware. This means that the operating system is much more stable.

Macs are convenient. Do you own an iPod? An iPhone? Do you listen to music with iTunes? Do you appreciate how simple, elegant and easy to use these products are? Apple applies all of the things you like about these products to their computers. Yes, there will be a time of adjustment to using Mac OS, but once you are used to it, you will love it.

Advanced technology. The current generation of Macbook Pros feature LED monitors, multi-touch mouse trackpad and a CNC machined aluminum case. Desktop Mac Pros feature up to 8 core processors (yes, eight) and up to 4 TB of storage (TB=Terabyte). Thats four thousand (4000) GB.

A good overview of the Macbook Pro is available here.

A Mac can do anything a Windows PC can. With Apple computers now using Intel processors, they are able to run Windows. With programs like Bootcamp or software emulation, you are able to install and run Windows on your Mac and switch between the two OSs easily. Macs come with a Mail utility with the same functionality as Microsoft Outlook. The iWork line of software comes with Pages, Keynote and Numbers which can function as replacements for Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Each of these programs can export files in a format that can be used in Windows software. Or, if you don’t want to try iWork, Microsoft offers a Mac-compatible version of Office.

Disadvantages of Mac Computers.

They ’re only more secure because fewer people use them. If everybody used Macs, there would be a lot more viruses and malware for them. If Apple computers became more popular, they would become less secure.

Cannot be upgraded/customized. There are upgrade options when you buy a Mac, but unlike a Windows PC, you cannot mix and match components. The easiest way to upgrade a Mac is to buy a new one.

Price. Macs are very expensive. Even the cheapest laptop costs $999.99. Windows machines cost as little as $500.

Playing games requires Windows. There are very few games available for the Mac. If you are a gamer, a Mac is probably not the best choice. You could run Bootcamp, but if you are going to spend most of your time on a Mac running Windows, you have to ask yourself if it is worth it. Another option (and the one I have taken) is to play games on a video game console, such as a PS3 or Wii, and simply use your computer for computing.

It requires adjustment. It a Windows-based world. Most people are used to using Windows. Changing to a Mac requires that you get used to a number of differences. Some people are simply not willing to make that change.
