Jose Mari Viceral aka Vice Ganda was born on March 31, 1976. He is a regular host/judge on ABS-CBN’s talent show It's Showtime and starred in two films, one of which is considered the highest-grossing film in Philippine cinema. Also he is best known for his stand-up routines, for which he uses observational comedy on typical “Pinoy” lifestyle and using situational irony and sarcasm pertaining to Filipino culture & behavior and human sexuality.
Vice Ganda was raised along Jose Abad Santos Street in Manuguit, Tondo, Manila. He is the youngest of 5 siblings. He has 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
His mother moved without the family to work in the United States after his father was killed in a shooting incident when he was 13 years old. He attended Far Eastern University studying political science. He started his career in 1999 as a stand-up comedian performing at The Library comedy bar. Vice Ganda is openly gay, and his two brothers are also gay.
Vice Ganda said his father did not know he was gay and he kept his sexuality hidden from his mother as he did not want to disappoint her.
Vice Ganda has been a host of television programs and has performed in several comedy bars. He resides in ABSCBN Channel 2. Vice Ganda has also been on Movies like Petrang Kabayo and Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat He is one of the Hosts | Unevictable judge of the noontime show Showtime which airs every 10:30 am Mondays-Saturdays.
He had his first major Araneta Concert last May 15, 2010, entitled, May Nagtext Yung Totoo Vice Ganda sa Araneta, and was followed by the second major success Araneta Concert, Eto na Vice Ganda Todong Sample sa Araneta, on July 1, 2011. He was given the opportunity, to host his own talk show Gandang Gabi Vice, and he has also starred in the movie Noy, Hating Kapatid & Petrang Kabayo.
